Repairs are often doen with nitro-cellulose lacquer putty or bondo that's primed before being blocked out for a flat shiny finish and in all cases I've found they do more damage than repair when it comes time to paint it. I do a better job at the same or better price, but you won't be unhappy if you use them, and you certainly won't come to me asking to have their work redone.
